The types of marijuana which are normally known are:
- Sativa
- Indica
But there is
also a third type which is not much different than Indica and that is
- Ruderalis
The use of
marijuana is dated way back in history especially in India as it was highly
used by Hindu God name Shiva or Shiv. Hence, made it a sacred plant.
Sativa
Sativa are
tall and thin with narrow leaves and are generally in light green colour than
others. They take longer time to grow and mature and require more light. These are
usually used for industrial purpose and are also referred as Hemp.
Indica
These are
short in height and are bushier with wider leaves. They have a higher yields and
grow faster than sativa. These are usually used for producing medicines because
of higher level of CBD and lower THC counts.
Ruderalis
There is
actually debate going on for ruderalis to be accepted or not as a sub-species. Therefore,
not much known or can be said about it to be considered as a type of marijuana.
Similar to indica it also has lower THC count.
With all the
types of marijuana mentioned above there is one more thing that I would like to
mention in this blog and that is about Bhang. Every Indian know the use of
Bhang but only few from other countries. Even bhang being used in India most of
the Indians don’t know that Bhang is made through marijuana. Bhang is made by
converting marijuana in a form which is edible. It has been used in foods and
drinks by Hindus since ancient India. Bhang is mainly consumed during Hindu
festival called Holi the festival of colours.
